With the establishment of Maui Vacation Company, his niece, Debbie, proudly stands on the foundation he's built to expand services to additional resorts and the creation of custom itineraries and visitor experiences for our guests.
Based in Santa Cruz, California, Debbie leads our travel division and marketing efforts. It's an ideal location to serve the San Francisco Bay Area, Silicon Valley, and ultimately all of California which continues to be the strongest point of origin for travelers to the island.
We also have our West Maui office in Kahana to personally serve our guests during their stay and to provide hands-on management for our property owners.

My feet first touched Maui soil in June 1999. I had never been to Hawaii before. I had just graduated college (go cougs!) and this trip was a gift from my uncle, Monte.
Leaving the hustle and bustle of the Honolulu airport after spending hours over the vast ocean, my small prop plane offered a real perspective of how special these islands are. We floated past waterfalls on the island of Molokai and grazed the tops of pineapple fields and sugarcane as we touched down at the Kapalua Airport. My skin met the warm island air as my uncle placed a tuberose lei around my neck. To this day, the smell of tuberose transports me back to that very moment.
I lived in San Francisco after college, living and working at The Presidio (another incredible place!) but when I had the opportunity to move to Maui in 2003, I didn't hesitate. And my life has never been the same.
My love for the island has grown immeasurably over the last 20 years as I have explored it and met people who have shaped my life. I've worked with, and for, the best people in the Hawaiian Islands.
I want to share my love of Maui with you. Maui is more than wearing a lei or a grass skirt, eating shave ice, or drinking a mai tai. It can be experienced at a deeper level.
When you immerse yourself fully in the magic of this island, it will create memories in you that will change you forever too.

Monte fell in love with real estate as a young man watching his Uncle John successfully navigate the market in the 1960s. Monte's father, also John, was a general contractor so Monte saw all sides of the business literally from the ground up.
After years spent as a broker in Marin County, California (just north of the Golden Gate Bridge), Monte set off to Hawaii settling in Kaanapali. Not only was the island beautiful but he saw the opportunity to meet people from all over the world.
Monte's clients come from Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Germany, England, New Zealand, and Australia. Some are even famous! But those are stories for another time...
Forty years later, Monte is still setting real estate records and the real estate business is his passion.
